A Tribute To My Mom
My Mother was a listener
I would tell you so
But many of you out there
know that it was so.
She would listen attentively
to all you had to say
And God usually gave her a scripture
unto you, she would relay.
It was nothing for her then to say,
"May I have a word of prayer with you?"
Then with tears streaming down her face
she would pray to God for you.
It did not matter when you called
she was always happy to oblige
For therein lay her talent
she was called of God to recognize...
His many wounded people
all the souls that felt so lost
He would bring them to My Mother
for there was never any cost.
She oft times told me, that as a child
she asked of God a Christian mate
I believed He smiled down upon her
and sent her to her fate.
No, just like us she was not perfect
but I believe an Angel sent to earth
To touch each and every soul
and tell them of their worth.
For she believed in Heaven
and all that God did say
And she would tell you very quickly
just how things did lay.
So now we send her back to God
whence she came to us
May she have the Most Glorious Mansion in Heaven
may it be thus!
(c) 2015 Karen Langford Brown
"Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious
than rubies. Her husband can trust her, and she will greatly
enrich his life. She brings him good, not harm, all the days
of her life. When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives
instructions with kindness. Her children stand and bless her.
Her husband praises her: There are many virtuous and capable
women in the world, but you surpass them all!"
Proverbs 31:10-12: 26, 28-29
